A Slice of Germany: Coffee, Cake & Conversation

Did you know that coffee and cake is a beloved German tradition?

Known as Kaffee und Kuchen, it’s a daily ritual where families gather in the afternoon to enjoy a slice of home-baked cake alongside a cup of coffee.

Chef Alex honours this tradition with a selection of cakes served from our dedicated Cake cabinet. From Käsekuchen (baked cheesecake) and Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Black Forest gâteau) to the very indulgent Donauwelle, a layered cake with chocolate, cherries and buttercream.

Best enjoyed mid-afternoon with a freshly brewed coffee and good conversation, the perfect time to enjoy and watch the world go by.
